At the September 26th concert, we will mark America250 with a concert highlighting American perspectives and narratives. A concert overture by Florence Price, based on the spiritual Sinner, Please Don't Let This Harvest Pass, a short explosion of color by Jessie Montgomery entitled Starburst, and Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man round out the first half. Then, in the second half we'll be joined by Ron Whittemore as he narrates Copland's, Lincoln Portrait followed by one of the most famous American works: Appalachian Spring.
