On Saturday, June 2nd, The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary in great style in the Blue Ridge Conference Hall at Blue Ridge Community College. In honor of its many years of providing live, classical music, the orchestra will host an evening of musical entertainment featuring both classical and popular pieces. The audience will enjoy everything from Beethoven, Saint Saen, Haydn, Bizet and Sibelius, to the Broadway hits of such as Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and the classically American music of Aaron Copland. Tom Joiner will welcome guests such as former HSO Conductor Manny Alvarez, longtime HSO friends Ron Whittemore and Scott Treadway, Baritone Justin Patterson, Cellist Franklin Keel, and Trumpeter/Composer Peter Voisin to his stage.
The Hendersonville Symphony League presents the Third Annual Black and White Ball, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 6:00 pm. Dinner and dancing to the music of Top Hat, along with live and silent auctions all held at Kenmure Country Club to benefit the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra will hold open auditions on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Musicians interested in auditioning for substitute positions with the orchestra in all sections are welcome, and encouraged to apply. Auditions are by appointment only. Interested candidates must submit an application, a one-page resume, and a deposit of $25 made payable to the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. Checks will be refunded at the time of the audition.
