BRILLIANCE!

featuring Marianne Gedigian, flute

Torke – Javelin
Mozart- Concerto No. 1 for Flute
Chaminade- Concertino for Flute
Copland – Rodeo

Premiered in 1994 by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Michael Torke’s Javelin was performed at the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Copland’s truly American ballet Rodeo combines the excitement of Broadway with the elegance of classical ballet in a depiction of riding, roping, and dancing in the great American west. Flutist Marianne Gedigian performs charming staples of the flute repertoire.
