POSITION TITLE: Stage Manager 1
RESPONSIBILITIES: Transportation of percussion instruments and concert equipment to/from storage areas to rehearsal and concert venues; assist with stage setup for rehearsals and concerts; liaison to Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) support staff during concerts; care and maintenance of HSO equipment as specified.
REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle; eligibility to rent a truck or trailer; reliable working cell phone; regular access to email; willingness and ability to move furniture (chairs, tables) as well as musical equipment (drums, music stands, etc.) without difficulty; schedule flexibility during concert weeks; reliable, congenial personality with strong communications skills.
OTHER: Knowledge of musical instruments a plus, though not required.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work is scheduled around the concert and rehearsal schedules. Hours will vary depending on the number of performances per concert event. There are five regularly scheduled HSO concerts and two Public School Education Concerts. Two of the five regularly scheduled concerts may have more than one performance. The Stage Manager 1 hours will vary by event but the number of hours per scheduled concert require a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 26.
COMPENSATION: $1750/season.
