Spring 2017 HSYO Audition Information
The HSYO is accepting students on a rolling basis for the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion.
Interested students/parents should contact Artistic Director and Administrator Dorian Neuendorf at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828-697-5884 to coordinate an audition time.
The HSYO rehearses regularly on Monday evenings, 6-8 pm at Blue Ridge Community College Bo Thomas Auditorium. The first rehearsal for the spring semester will be Monday, January 23, 2017.
Membership in the Hendersonville Symphony Youth Orchestra is open to public, private, and home school students by audition. String, Wind, Brass, and Percussion players with a minimum of one year of school instruction (or the equivalent with teacher recommendation) and up to age 21 are invited to audition.
Information for Prospective Members
What to prepare: Prospective students should prepare a solo of choice and a major scale of choice. The solo chosen may be drawn from solo or ensemble repertoire, and should reflect the student’s current level of skill and musicianship. Any major scale may be selected, covering one or more octaves as appropriate to the student’s level of skill.
